At Kenkoh, we believe that health starts from the sole of your feet. Kenkoh’s signature massaging footbed is based on centuries-old reflexology principles. It has been researched and perfected in Japan since 1949. We envision a world where everyone can enjoy the benefits of improved circulation, increased energy, release of endorphins and foot pain management, naturally and simply by walking.
Better health, one step at a time with Kenkoh

In 1949, Mr. Kyu-kichi Yamanashi established a small shoe factory, manufacturing traditional Japanese Geta footwear in the provincial town of Shizuoka in Japan. After suffering from tuberculosis, Mr. Kyu-kichi began to experiment with ancient oriental feet treatments including ‘take-fumi’ walking on bamboo shoots – and ‘soku-sin-do’ Japanese acupressure. The impact on his health was remarkable. Mr. Yamanashi made a dramatic recovery and got inspired to apply these ancient healing principles into the designs of traditional Japanese shoes.
Kenkoh, the first massage sandal was born in 1965. Today, the Yamanashi family continues to design and manufacture Kenkoh using the highest craftsmanship and technology standards, with the aim of promoting an overall state of wellbeing and happiness.

The Japanese Shokunin or artisans, devote their lives to perfecting their art and enhancing their skills, making a living out of it and ensuring it passes to the next generation.
Kenkoh was born by the craftsmanship of Mr. Kyu-kichi Yamanashi in his small shoe factory. His legacy is sustained nowadays by his grandsons, assuring the quality that our founder envisioned. The soul of Kenkoh is in its footbed, carefully engineered to replicate reflexology treatments and provide its users with a well-being experience filled with health benefits that are clinically proven.
The soles of our feet should be in touch with the natural surfaces of the earth, stimulating nerve endings, balancing and strengthening the body.

Kenkoh has a unique massaging nodule technology that stimulates the feet from toes to heels. This creates an even blood supply in the entire foot.
Kenkoh features an orthotic arch that anatomically distributes the weight across the feet, supporting the arch and alleviating pain in flat foot, plantar fasciitis and protecting joints and back. Toes bear the important duty of holding and securing the balance when standing and walking, requiring a free range of movement to be able to achieve this.
